Pulling together your prom look is a lot of funoue probably been poring through magazines and speaking with your pals about prom fashions for months.ugg schuhe , If youe looking over this article, healthy for you! Youe mostly of the who truly realizes that finding the perfect prom accessories is equally as important as finding the perfect prom dress.jacken , Every fashion diva knows that accessorizing isnsaid to be an afterthought! Accessories can make or break your look, and prom is like a senior high school version of the Oscars? So before you decide to walk down that figurative red carpet, you have to seriously think about your whole ensemble.tiffany klokker , I here to help?

Ie experienced the style industry for a long time, and over the years Ie learned a few things about accessorizing.thomas sabo schmuck , Like a buyer for a leading pearls store, Ie spent years scouring the world for new jewelry trends, meeting leading edge jewelry designers, focusing on new pearl and gemstone jewelry collections, writing a method blog, editing countless fashion articles and being interviewed by myriad fashion reporters.acquistare abercrombie and fitch , Undoubtedly, my favorite activity is advising brides about bridal jewelry, and the very rules I apply to my bridal clients work as well for promgoers.

Before I spill my rules for accessorizing, I want you to think about the appearance youe after. Everything starts with your prom gown. Think of it as the base upon which you抣l layer the rest of your look. Prior to going dress shopping, consider your individual style. How does one describe yourself? Have you been trendy, sporty, fun, fresh, funky, romantic, cutting-edge? Into vintage? High-fashion? Whatever your style, consider the way you wish to portray that at prom. Got it? Good. Next, consider what styles look good you. Have you got great calves, a killer clavicle, a swan neck, toned arms, luminous baby browns? Consider what you would like to focus on. Your personal style along with your individual figure-flattering considerations will guide your dress shopping. For instance, if youe cutting-edge and want to highlight your killer calves, select a bold, short sheath dress. If youe romantic and wish to show off your great shoulders, choose a pearl pink strapless gown by having an empire waist. Lucky for 2008 promgoers, the options are endless. This season, the most popular prom dress is short, long, tea-length, full, sleek, sequined, and straightforward. It subtle, jewel-toned, sparkly, muted, romantic, gothic, ghetto and retro. It sleeveless, strapless, plunging and high-necked. In a nutshell, everything goes for prom 2008. What fun!

OK, now that youe got your dress, youe prepared to then add sparkle. Finally, listed here are my rules for flawless prom accessorizing:

1. Accessories should complement, not compete. When it comes to fashion, understanding how to accessorize is uber-important. For those who have an attractive prom dress but pair it with gaudy accessories, you know what? Youe entire look will fall flat. Get carried away and youl just look tacky, reduce too much and hel-lo Plain Jane. How to accessorize perfectly? Think about this rule of thumb: Simple dresses carry off bold, statement-making jewelry. Busy dresses require subtle jewelry. Sleek dresses sans embellishments are like blank canvases. They are able to carry off funky, diva-inspired jewelry, like a giant cocktail ring, gobstopper-sized mother-of-pearl beads, a large cuff or chandelier earrings. If you love bling, wear a simple dress as backdrop and visit town. Conversely, in-your-face dresses speak for themselves. Theye a focal point, and prom jewelry shouldn compete. Keep accessories simple by choosing pearl studs, a pearl pendant or a diamond tennis bracelet (real or fake). The secret is to pull your look together without overwhelming it. Remember, though, rules should be broken. If something works, it really works, regardless of what the rules say.
2. Don be too matchy-matchy. Last year, prom gowns were all about metallics and jewel tones. Whether you decide to go using these gowns this season, or any other bold color, don suit your jewelry for your gown. There抯 nothing more boring than an emerald green dress with matching emerald jewelry. Trite! Instead, choose pieces inside a complementary color. Think how pretty that green dress will appear with yellow gemsr how fab luminous lavender pearls will look against a shiny metallic gown. Remember how fabulously Marcia Cross?huge turquoise earrings set off her white dress at the Emmy? Cameron Diaz pulls from the trend well too. If youe not sure ways to get the look, read magazines for inspiration.
3. You can have an excessive amount of a good thing. It something to have great accessories. It quite another to overwhelm your look with unnecessary bling. Look in the mirror. Have you detected your accessories first? Your dress? Hair? You should notice YOU. You donwant your jewelry, or anything else for that matter, to overpower you. Pick one or two standout piecesike chandelier earrings along with a cocktail ring, or earrings and a cuff, but don do a bold necklace and dangle earrings. You don want to be by pointing out jewelry.
4. You get what you purchase. Unlike your beautiful prom dress or those gorgeous dyed shoes, jewelry is one thing you can wear long after the last prom song has faded. If youe choosing classic accessories and youe got a little money to spare, it okay to splurge a bit on, say, a timeless piece like a white pearl necklace. (Try round freshwater pearls; theye gorgeous and affordable.) But beware trendy pieces. Theye fun to put on, but have a shelf-life that shorter than Paris Hilton skirts and are so not worth the investment. Spend enough on trendy pieces so they won break during the fast songs, but don overspend on something you won wear again. A big faux emerald cocktail ring probably won be in fashion forever, but top quality classic pearl pendant or pair of diamond studs will stand the test of your time.

Good luck assembling your unique prom style. As youe walking to your waiting stretch limo on the arm of the date, Il be thinking about you and how fab you appear. Youl be the envy of all your pals. Have some fun, Prom Queen!

For my 5th year dance (2nd last year of school) I wore a black vlevet bodice dress with the same neckline as your royal blue dress, but with long flat black vlevet sleeves too. The skirt was very stiff purple silk, short, above the knee. That was 1987.For my 6th year dance my mum took the purple skirt off and added a long green soft silk skirt. And for my first university dance, she added a full length overskirt of black lace, kind of like the overlay Kate Winslet had on her Oscar gown this year but over the whole skirt.Apart from the purple stiff silk skirt which was very 80s, I think it was a pretty timeless dress. I was so sad when the vlevet basically became too tired to attempt another replacement skirt.
